The critical topics of logistics and supply chain research for year 2011 to 2012 are identified by this project
Logistics and supply chain research areas can be divided into three groups namely 1) Infrastructure/macro
logistics area, 2) Industrial area, and 3) Agricultural area. As a result of the synthesis process with Literature
reviews and Delphi technique, the research direction and research methodology for year 2011 and 2012 are
identified. For infrastructure/macro logistics and industrial areas, we found that ASEAN Economic Community
(AEC) is the critical driver. AEC will directly affect the infrastructure management and entrepreneurs in Thailand.
Beside, the creative industry must also be taken into account e.g. Healthcare tourism. In agricultural sector, the
needs are to emphasize on upstream player or farmer in the supply chain. Furthermore, Logistics and supply
chain research must be driven by regional and international context. Researchers’ roles must be distinctly
changed to practitioners with case and pilot project research. These research directions are developed to
National Logistics Research strategy (2011-2012) which will be commissioned by TRF and NRCT.
